"Leading from the Heart" Venture Fund
SAWL and C.E.O. Women have teamed up in 2008 to create a venture fund award program to support burgeoning immigrant and refugee women entrepreneurs of Asian descent in the Bay Area. This is a program inspired by C.E.O. Women's existing Venture Fund. The $2,000 award provides much needed seed capital for a woman to launch or grow her business. The cash portion of the grant is awarded in two installments for accountability and to allow women to pace their spending as their business grows. Since inception, C.E.O. Women has awarded grants to 24 low-income immigrant and refugee women. SAWL helps fund this program as well as provide mentorship for awardees.
