The Society of Asian Women Leaders is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community service organization dedicated to fostering the building of relationships among Asian American women who share the mission of excellence in leadership, service and charity. Founded in 2001, the group is made up of Asian American professionals whose experiences span a variety of fields, including health care, law, finance, media, public relations, marketing, engineering, e-commerce, and technology.

Welcome!
When girlfriends get together, great things can happen. Since our first gathering in 2000, SAWL has always been an organization of good friends who enjoy giving back to our community. We chose activities that encouraged friendship, developed leadership abilities, and served the diverse Asian American community here in the Bay Area.
We have determinedly grown from a group of ten to thirty-five members strong in the past nine years. I have seen SAWL sisters take on their personal transitions and professional challenges - some joyful and some heartbreaking - with grace and an unflinching strength of character. It is the sharing of this collective wisdom that makes SAWL distinctly worthwhile. We are gifted with resources that embolden creative synergy, development of a more transformative leadership style, and creation of a community that is much more wonderful to call home.
SAWL has always been, and continues to be, leading from the heart. I welcome you to explore, ask questions, and see how you too can support or be a part of this exceptional group of girlfriends.

Recent Event: "Generations of Women Leadership": SAWL's 2nd Annual Banquet and Charity Auction
Thank you to those of you who attended our fundraising event, "Generations of Women Leadership," on October 11, 2008.
Your support enables SAWL to continue its mission of developing future Asian American women leaders to serve our communities, and ensures our partnership growth with CEO Women (www.ceowomen.org) to support Bay Area low-income women entrepreneurs to realize their dreams of starting their own businesses and gain economic independence.
